March 24 – Almost Like a Day Off

The writing challenge I’m involved in is to write a certain number of words 5/7 days per week. I’ve written 6 days this week, so I took that writing off. I did get my devotional done, late, after sleeping in. The devotional was 422 words. I also finished editing the short story for the local author anthology. My  local writers group had helped me look at the first draft. I hope I addressed their concerns. I got the idea one morning and wrote the first draft pretty quickly.

Morning Devotional of 422 words: March 24 – Seeing Needs Around Us

Tomorrow will be a busy day: church, nursing home Bible Study, then evening church.

March 23 – Making Progress

I’m making progress. I did my morning devotional, although I was running a bit late, and then got my challenge writing done. Instead of working on the short story that had given me writer’s block, I worked on a different one for a local anthology and edited a little over half today. I should finish tomorrow, although tomorrow will be a busy day. Deadline to submit that work is March 31. Considering how my penchant in the past was to procrastinate, the fact that I’m almost done is amazing.

Today’s Devotional was 470 words: March 23 – Give In to Temptation or Trust and Obey?

The challenge writing was 467 words and I’m never sure how to count editing.

March 17 – Eking Out Words

I write better in the morning, really I do. I had some issues come up this morning and I didn’t get to finish my devotional til noon. I won’t go into my actions, except to say that I wasn’t procrastinating. All these actions were necessary.

My Morning Devotional, March 17 – The Nature of Evil and the Goodness of God, was 483 Words.

I eked out 474 words in my back story. I did get some help with the first sentences.

Original was: “Randall Stevenson yawned. There may have been a more boring job somewhere in the universe, but he couldn’t imagine what it would be.”

Without filler: “Randall Stevenson yawned. If a more boring job existed in the universe, he couldn’t imagine it. ”

Tomorrow is a church day, and those are always busy for me. I hope I can get more writing done, though.
