May 2 – Of All the Days I’ve Ever Had, This Was One Of Them.

Today just happened. Nothing spectacular went on. I wrote my devotional…took a while because things weren’t clicking. It ended up about 380 words. I took care of trash and recycling. Then I got ready to do laundry. I’ve taken to writing at the laundromat, so I got a little bit of writing done while there. Then, it was home for lunch, took care of a few other things. Only then did I remember that I needed to shower. Like I said…one of those days. I brought my daughter to class, along with dinner for all of us, then went to church. Made arrangements with my pastor to write the forward to the next volume of devotionals I’ll be publishing. Then came home and finished my writing challenge.

May 1 – So Long, Doc!

Today began with an appointment with my hematologist. I had to see her for some issues. For some reason, hematology and oncology are related, and when they called to remind me about my appointment the other day, they started off with “This is the cancer center calling.” I almost hung up on them! I thought they were asking for donations based on my wife’s battles with cancer. The end of that story is that I had an early morning appointment and ended up seeing the doctor twice. We met at the elevator and rode up to the second floor together, and then I saw here in the examining room. To make a long story short, I don’t need to go back! Yea! Then, I came home and worked on my devotional which got put out a little later than usual. After that, I gave a chess lesson to a fourth grader who is getting harder to teach. He figures out what to do before I teach him the technique! He’s a great, respectful kid. I came home and fixed supper for my daughter to take to my wife. I had reasons for not taking my daughter to class, but I wish in retrospect that I had taken her. Then, I finally did my challenge writing after procrastinating. I need to finish the story by about May 15-20 so I can submit it in time.

April 30 – It Was Monday, All Right

Mondays – when everything takes twice as long and you work three times as hard to get work done that you are 50% less satisfied with. Got my devotional and challenge writing done earlier than normal, but it was like pulling teeth today. Then had to run errands and on my last one, realized that I had just enough time to finish, get home and change, and then get to chess clubs. Did those and came home to an empty house. That problem I mentioned that my wife had at work, solved by making her work harder. But, there are other benefits, so she’s satisfied with the arrangements. I began editing the book I should have done two months ago but had glitches. I should get caught up and work on July August soon as well as my Time Travel story this month. June is gonna be crazy!

April 29 – A Giant Step Forward

Sunday. Wow. There’s so much going on that I didn’t finish my devotional until almost 10:00 PM. We left the house at 7:30 for church because I had to set up the slideshow. We were there until after 12:00 Noon and then I had to leave for the Nursing home at 1:45. I left later because I was trying to fix an email situation for my wife. While working on that, I had to deal with a couple of issues related to my books on Amazon. (More later.) When I got to the Nursing home, we had a delay in starting because of some issues there. So, I got home late and we had to turn around almost immediately – ok – I kept working on the email thing – and get to church. My wife had handbells and I was setting up for Financial Peace University. Setting up and taking down lasted from 4:00 to about 7:00, then a quick trip to get groceries for dinner and medications and it was about 8:00 before I started working on any writing.

The first thing I worked on was my biography for my Amazon Author page. That became my challenge writing project for the day. And, I now have an Amazon Author Page! I also got the paperback and Kindle editions of the May June devotional series published.

Then, I finished my devotional (449 Words) – April 29 – Heaven is Like…ah…Hmmm…Guess I’ll Trust God For That

There’s still so much to do!

April 28 – Book Uploaded. Computer NOT Thrown Across the Room

Yea Me! I got frustrated working on the eBook because I didn’t understand something Microsoft Word does. I tried to get things in the proper order with bookmarks instead of links, not realizing that when I built the table of contents, the bookmarks were there. ::Sigh:: eventually figured it out. Both Paperback and eBook version have been uploaded and are awaiting processing from Amazon. This will be the May-June edition of the Devotional Series. I’m calling it the sunrise edition with the idea that the devotionals are meant to be read early in the morning. My plan originally was to have one series. Then, I thought about other ways to frame things and I might have a noon edition and a moonrise edition in years to come. The eBook is matchbooked, meaning if you buy the paperback, the eBook is free.

I finished up the eBook after attending an Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony. A fine young man earned his Eagle Scout award. I was so happy for and proud of him. He is always willing to serve. Ronnie Boehnke, I salute you! You have earned a great honor. My wife and I walked downtown tonight, one thing the doc at MDA said she should do. I’m glad that she was feeling well enough to do that. Then, we came back and I did my challenge writing.
